hey art friends today we're going to, draw the patriots logo it's going to be, a lot of fun i hope you're going to, follow along with me this may be a, little more challenging for younger art, friends but i hope you're up to the, challenge and you're going to follow, along now i'm going to use a pencil i, also have an eraser and my colored, pencils and a sharpie first step we're, going to do is outline the basic shape, of the logo so i'm going to start by, drawing the top line first and we've got, this big curve, so we got this curve that goes like this, and the reason why we're using a pencil, first is so that we can get the lines, just right before we move on to the next, set so we're going to draw a little, curve right here at the end, on the right side, and then right here at the front we're, also going to curve back up, i'm going to give it a little more curve, in the middle also, this is why it's tricky for younger art, friends is because the sketching step, usually we use sharpies and we just go, right for the line but this time we kind, of need to sketch in that shape before, we use our sharpies okay now down here, at the bottom you're going to see why we, use the pencil we're just going to do, one line that comes all the way curves, all the way down, right at the end it's going to curve, like this, and if you, go ahead and if you draw too many lines, go ahead and erase the lines where, you're not going to use now here at the, front we're going to also draw a, diagonal line, all right there we go we got the general, shape of the logo this is always a great, place to start when using a pencil to, sketch next let's draw the tail or the, stripes of the logo back here now we're, going to start at this little point, back here at the end on the left side, we're going to start we're going to, follow that s shape, up and then right at the end we're going, to start curling, back down now i'm coming a little over, halfway let's go a little bit further, then we're going to start at this line, and we're going to draw another s shape, coming back, the other direction, or an s line, there we go all right now let's draw the, next s line coming back into the logo, this one's going to go a little further, and then we're going to come back down, now we can erase those lines, the extra lines, here in the gap, it's starting to look like the logo, isn't it right here there's a separation, between the red and the blue part and, the logo so let's draw a diagonal line, going this direction and we could just, draw it right through because we're, going to erase the extra lines, there's two of them, so there's a separation there so let's, go ahead and erase those lines, let's erase here and then we're also, going to race, in the gap, next let's draw his face and about, halfway down this diagonal line is where, we're going to start so it's going to, come in for his hat and his forehead, into his nose and then we're going to, come back out to finish his nose, then we're going to come back in for the, bottom of his nose, and we've got just a little curve for, his lips, and we've got a big curve that comes, back out and touches, that first line, for his chin, now we can erase that extra line, now if i ever go too fast you can always, pause the video if you need to take, extra time to complete a step, now we're going to start where his nose, begins and we're going to draw a curve, that comes back into the logo, and then curves down, now this is just a general shape for his, face we're going to change that now, we're going to come back here at the top, of his nose and we're going to draw, a curve that comes, down, and we're going to draw a straight line, for the bottom of his eye, then we're going to draw a curve that, goes back up, for the top of his eye, and then we're going to, connect that into that curve, all right we got his eye all done and, now we can erase this extra line up here, at the top, now we're going to draw the shadow on, his cheek so it's a diagonal line that, comes down underneath his eye, and then right here where his eye starts, there's another diagonal line that comes, down towards his chin, then hit at the bottom of this diagonal, line we're going to draw a curve, that comes back and completes, his jaw, all right we're almost done let's come, back up to his nose and we are going to, draw a line inside of his nose so we're, going to match the outside line of his, nose, we're going to come in for the shadow, under his nose, draw a little diagonal line and then, back to his lips, then we're going to come down just a, little, and we're going to draw his mouth so, it's another straight line that comes, out to the length of his nose, and then a diagonal line coming down, and then we'll draw a curve going back, to his lips, down to his chin, small little line coming in then we're, going to draw a curve that completes his, chin, into the bottom line, now down here at the bottom of the logo, there's an extra thick line so i'm going, to complete this, curve that comes down here, for the outside line, and then there's an inside line just, like we drew on the front of his face, next go in and erase those extra, guidelines, now the last thing we're going to draw, with our pencil is the star on his hat, so we're going to start up here we're, going to draw just a regular star so, you're going to come down diagonally, come back up, go across, come back down, and then connect it, once you've completed drawing that star, go back in and you can erase the, guidelines, all right now that we got it all, sketched in with the pencil lines we're, going to use our colored pencils to, color in the logo now this part we're, going to fast forward but at the end you, can pause the video so that you can, match the coloring, all right i finished coloring now you, guys can pause the video right now so, you can match the same coloring that i, did you use dark blue up here on the, front red on the two stripes and then, gray on his face now also at the end you, can use an eraser to clean up those, extra pencil lines and i also thought, that i was going to use the sharpie but, decided not to just because i think it, looks better without it i hope you had a, lot of fun following along with me, remember it's not important that your, drawing looks exactly like the logo or, exactly like my drawing the most, important thing is to have fun and also, to practice i promise you the second, time you draw your logo it'll turn out, better than the first time and we'll see, you later our
